There is another sky
By Emily Dickinson
Translated by qirobin (20090306)

There is another sky,
Ever serene and fair,
And there is another sunshine,
Though it be darkness there;尽管尚处于幽暗;
Never mind faded forests, Austin,
Never mind silent fields –
——Here is a little forest,
Whose leaf is ever green;郁郁葱葱长青永远;
Here is a brighter garden,
Where not a frost has been;严霜未曾指染;
In its unfading flowers
I hear the bright bee hum:
Prithee, my brother,
Into my garden come!

THE FIRST TIME OF MY EARNING MONEY

Qi Naishen in middle school in 1997

Dragon Boat festival is one of the most important days in China. People usually hang a little wormwood over their house doors when the Festival comes. My family also does it like that. But I don’t know why the wormwood isn’t for sale in the market on Dragon Boat festival of this year. So we several kids are gonna pick up wormwoods ourselves.
It was a fine day when we climbed to the hill nearby. As soon as we arrived at half past eight, we started looking for the wormwood. ”Look!” one person shouted a moment later, ”What’s that over there? Is that wormwood? Oh yes, it is!” Then we together ran to the place. Wow! there were so many wormwoods there that we couldn’t help us from picking them up. It was near lunchtime When we were gonna home when I said Why we couldn’t reap some more to sell them and we could be rich. “Ha Ha!” We laughed, harvesting more. After that we went to the market and sold them out. But we were very sorry to find that we only got four Yuan.
We were all very tired while getting back home. But I was very happy because this was the first time of my earning money!

Just drinking water in Changsha,
Then eating the fish in WuChang.
Swimming across the Yang-Tsi river,
Eyeing on the sky makes me much comfortable in ancient Chu State.
Whatever how hard the wind and waves are,
I prefer swimming to wandering in the Garden,
Because of my having too much leisure time today.
Kong Zi ever said by the bank that time as the water could never return again.*

Sails are moving,
Snake and Tortoise mountains are quiet,
The great plan is becoming true.
A bridge will connect from the south and north,
The natural trench’s changing into an accessible path.
Then a large dam should be built in the upstream,
So as to hold up rain-water coming from Wu mountain,
Forming a plain lake in the gorge of highlands,
And Goddess Peak should be safe,
All above must surprise the world.

Nine Boundless rivers flows in China,
The longest line divides her into north and south.
Rain-mist is indistinct and vast,
Snake and Tortoise mountains guard the river.

Wondering where the Crane gone ,
Only the Tower left for tourists.
I Give wine to the billowsMy heart-tide running mountains high like crests.

Hard rain’s falling on You and Yan states,
White waves dashing to sky,
Fishing-boats outside Qin Emperor islands,
Unseen in the boundless sea.
Where are they?

Bygone’s got over a thousand years,
WeiWu Emperor came here on horse,
Leaving his poem carved on the stone tablet in the East.
Now returns Autumn wind yesterday Rustling in the air,
But the conqueror’s changed already in the states.

The Rolling English Road

Before the Roman came to Rye or out to Severn strode,
The rolling English drunkard made the rolling English road.
A reeling road, a rolling road, that rambles round the shire,
And after him the parson ran, the sexton and the squire;
随后牧师、乡绅一应杂役们呵护精心;
A merry road, a mazy road, and such as we did tread
The night we went to Birmingham by way of Beachy Head.

I knew no harm of Bonaparte and plenty of the Squire,
And for to fight the Frenchman I did not much desire;
至于同法国人争斗亦非出自我的本意;
But I did bash their baggonets because they came arrayed
To straighten out the crooked road an English drunkard made,
Where you and I went down the lane with ale-mugs in our hands,
The night we went to Glastonbury by way of Goodwin Sands.

His sins they were forgiven him; or why do flowers run
他们原谅了他的无礼因为鲜花在其身后绽放;
Behind him; and the hedges all strengthening in the sun?
The wild thing went from left to right and knew not which was which,
But the wild rose was above him when they found him in the ditch.
God pardon us, nor harden us; we did not see so clear
The night we went to Bannockburn by way of Brighton Pier.
My friends, we will not go again or ape an ancient rage,Or stretch the folly of our youth to be the shame of age,But walk with clearer eyes and ears this path that wandereth,And see undrugged in evening light the decent inn of death;For there is good news yet to hear and fine things to be seen,Before we go to Paradise by way of Kensal Green.
